Cooking and Trekking and some Pizzica Dance

Day One Arrival day
We will pick you up either at the Airport or at the Lecce Train Station. Transfer to our premises Il Tabacchificio, an ancient tobacco factory, approximately one and a half hour drive from Brindisi Airport and 45 minutes from Lecce, unless you would like to experience the local electric train from Lecce to Gagliano. Relax and welcoming drinks with breefing of the week . First typical dinner.

Day Two: visit of the market, hiking and cooking lesson
Visit of a nice market in Alessano, a beautiful small village full of history with a stop for a coffee and a pasticciotto (the typical creamy dessert of the region). Hiking at our privat natural fiord Ciolo- Cipolliane with private guide. This beautiful trail winds along the Adriatic Sea and ends in a the extraordinary cave. On very clear days we are able to see Greece and Albania. We will have lunch at Il Tabacchificio and rest. In the afternoon cooking lesson: today we will prepare together the Apulian famous appetizers like fave e cicoria, pittule, pomodorini scattarisciati, and vegetable taiedda. After dinner icecream in Specchia, one of the 100 most beautiful village of Italy, with private guide.

Day Three: Otranto visit, cooking lesson, Pizzica dance
For the tonic early birds, Paola can bring you to a short trekking in the surroundings among the olive trees by the sea . After breakfast departure towards Otranto, the Italy's easternmost town, with private guide. Time for some shopping. Lunch at the hotel. /Rest In the afternoon cooking class on homemade pasta and ravioli and three delicious sauces. Dinner at the hotel. After dinner a nice lesson of pizzica dance with Michela. Pizzica is a popular Italian folk dance, originally from the Salento peninsula and later spreading throughout all the Puglia and Calabria regions and eastern Basilicata. It is part of the larger family of tarantella dances.

Day Four: visit of the winery, lunch at the ancient Masseria and cooking class
Today is the Italian lesson day, let’s have fun! After breakfast departure for a private wine tasting to a AAA local winery. Lunch in a ancient masseria, Le Stanzie, the countryside here is breathtaking.
Cooking lesson start at 17.00 today pitta di patate ( a savory pie made with a double layer of potato crust). Dinner at the hotel.

Day Five: cooking lesson visit of Lecce
After breakfast an important cooking lesson the memorable eggplant parmigiana with some other variation. Lunch. Afternoon private tour of Lecce.

Day Six visit of Gallipoli, cooking lesson, pizzica dance
After breakfast let’s go visit Gallipoli, with private guide. The old city center lies on an island connected to the mainland by a sixteenth-century bridge, and it is one of the loveliest and most historic towns in Puglia.. Return at the hotel. Lunch. Cooking lesson on seafood in the afternoon: tubetti fagioli e cozze (Pasta with beans and mussels), which is an exceptional dish that sums up the secret of healthy Mediterranean cuisine: fish, pasta and legumes and the Fish soup. Dinner at the hotel. Last night together with Pizzica dance with a nice toast with all our staff.

Day Seven
