Hello, here we are Paola and Antonella, two sisters in our forties. The story of our family is very much linked to Salento and to our grandmother, Nonna Tetta. She was the best cook we ever met. Our cooking classes are all based on her recipes . During our cooking breaks we will associate also some good walking in the countryside and by the sea discovering something exceptional: this is good for your health and your spirit! As the Guardian said recently : “Unspoilt Italy: fall head over heel for Puglia's Salento region. Wild beaches, seriously tempting food and wine, affordable prices – and few tourists – await those who venture to Salento, the sun-kissed south of Puglia at the heel of Italy's boot”. Salento is home to some of Italy's loveliest towns and cities: the sea-front fortified gems of Gallipoli and Otranto, the creamy baroque sophistication of Lecce and the luxurious seaside Liberty pleasures of Leuca.
But the Salento is also full to brimming with small sleepy towns and wonderful countryside. It is the long and varied coastline, however, that is the major attraction for the area's tourist industry. Home to some of Italy's loveliest beaches and most dramatic rocky coastline, the Salento is a haven for sea lovers and we add for food lovers too... Salento cuisine is based on fresh and dried vegetables, homemade pasta, fish and a few types of meat. Our grandmother used to say that the best ingredients are already the secret of good food, the rest is love. We will teach you her secrets, with hands-on lessons and all with very much fun also. You will be able to re-create at home tasty good food, a new way of simple cooking, paying more attention to the fresh ingredients.
